Fiona Dawson established TransMilitary in 2012 to promote transgender equality through media that educates, entertains and inspires. She is an LGBTQ advocate, writer and multimedia producer. Her work has been published in NBC OUT, Curve magazine, FTM Magazine, The Advocate, LGBTQ Nation and The Huffington Post. In 2015 Fiona was honored by The White House for her work as an LGBT Artist Champion of Change. She was voted Houston’s Female Grand Marshal for the 2009 LGBT Pride Parade, has served on the National Board of Directors of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and the Board of Directors for the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA). 

Gabe Silverman

Gabe Silverman is the creative engine at SideXSide Studios: our director, lead DP, and quality control backstop. He is an expert storyteller, videographer and photographer with tech know-how. Gabe is a former video journalist for the Washington Post, where he produced short enterprising films, interactive documentaries, and investigative reporting. Gabe’s journalism work has garnered more than a dozen awards, including an Edward R. Murrow award and several Capital Emmys.

Jamie Coughlin is the executive producer at SideXSide Studios, a production company that creates documentary films for corporate clients like Starbucks, nonprofits like the Clinton Foundation, and editorial outlets like The New York Times. Jamie is a former journalist with extensive production and writing expertise. This is her first feature length documentary production. She honed her skills at USA Today, where she created and executed editorial and branded video content strategy, wrote scripts, and managed personnel and budgets.
